What is The Cancellation Policy?
If you need to cancel your participation in the training program, you may be eligible for a refund of the balance of the training cost, excluding the $500 non-refundable deposit, provided that the cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the program's start date. This will require the return of the course manual to the program director at the cost of the participant.
In cases of urgent medical situations or compassionate circumstances such as the death of an immediate family member, a natural disaster, or a life-threatening illness, we understand that cancellation may be necessary. In such cases, we may offer consideration for a transferable credit to a future yoga course. To request consideration for a transferable credit, just notify our staff.

What is Trauma-Informed Yoga?
Trauma-informed yoga is a specialized approach to yoga that recognizes and responds to the unique needs of individuals who have experience with trauma, mental health and chronic pain challenges.

Unlike traditional yoga classes, trauma-informed yoga focuses on creating an environment where participants can reconnect with their bodies and minds while reducing the chances of feeling overwhelmed or retraumatized.

In addition to understanding the mind-body connection and its relationship with trauma, trauma-informed yoga involves using strategic language, cue's, pose adaptations and empowerment principles. You can read more about it here.

What opportunities are available to me after I graduate this program?
Depending on one’s background, there are various opportunities to use this certificate and the knowledge gained while acquiring it.
For certain students, the 200 HR training is a tool for self-discovery only. They use the mind-body skills and the spiritual nature of yoga to heal, grow and prosper.

Healthcare workers often pursue yoga certifications to integrate yoga into their profession as a complementary treatment modality or for professional development.

Others use yoga as a supplementary or full-time income opportunity.

According to a CNN Money report, yoga instructors had a median pay of $62,400, with top earners making $119,000. Most starting teachers earn less while building their brand and clientele, especially if working part-time and targeting more generic niches. Income truly depends on specialization, which is why defining your niche is a key component in training program for those who want to pursue teaching yoga.

Lastly, some students envision a business in the industry beyond teaching; including software, products, apps, courses, physical products, or clothing.

There is no right or wrong way to use this knowledge — just the way that works best for you.
Do I have to go near horses during in-person trainings?
Although we have horses at our property, it is not required for you to go near them. Many of our students are naturally scared of horses, and that is okay.
Horses are fascinating animals; they have a majestic presence coupled with humility and empathy that creates a perfect environment for self-reflection. However, no students are required to go near them, touch them or interact with them. It is a voluntary feature of our program.
Will I need to purchase any materials, such as books for the training?
Only one book is mandatory, the rest are recommended readings and are referenced.
Our program uses Teaching Yoga by Mark Stephens, and students are expected to buy this book.
The books we reference include, but are not limited to:
-
TruthAches by Tamika Schilbe Cole
-
Self-Awakening Yoga by Don Stapleton
-
The Breathing Book by Donna Farhi
-
The Psoas Book by Liz Koch
-
Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews
-
Science of Yoga by Ann Swanson
-
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (any edition of your choice)
-
Bhagavad Gita (any edition of your choice)
How much yoga experience is necessary to enrol in this program?
Like any Yoga Teachers Certification program, it helps to have some basic understanding of yoga, but it is not required.
Our programs are designed to build on any skill level.
Could you explain what a hybrid program entails?
The hybrid program is a blend of online and in-person immersion.
We host the live online sessions, and they are personalized and engaging.
Our in-person immersions are where we become experts and build deep friendships. We focus on core anatomy, poses, hands-on adjustments and cue rehearsal while offering real-world practice to build your skills as a yoga teacher.
Where will the training take place?
The in-person immersions take place at our wellness farm, which is located 10 minutes south of London, Ontario, Canada. Address and dates for these are provided during onboarding, with amble advance of the program start date to accommodate your scheduling needs.
The online portion can be done anywhere with a wifi connection.
Where do I stay during in-person immersions?
This entirely depends on your location.
For some, it’s possible to drive. Others look to get a hotel or AIRBNB in London, St Thomas or Port Stanley, Ontario, during the in-person immersions.
During onboarding, we provide more details about where you can stay if travelling.
What about food at in-person immersions?
Given the diversity of diet needs, every student is to bring their own food.
We do provide refrigeration and dining areas!
What if the weather is bad?
We have a bad-weather policy that is provided to students during on-boarding that outlines the process with bad weather and our accommodations. This will outline in detail what the procedures are, and how we work with students.
I get nervous public speaking and in social settings, what should I do?
For starters, it takes a lot of courage to admit this and don’t worry, we do too!
We are a close, understanding community.
As a Trauma-Informed Yoga School, we are well aware that all students have unique experiences with mental health, trauma and connection. We are all learning together, and we are all supporting each other’s growth.
We help with teaching and create a space where they can do the teaching and social exposure in an accommodating way.
I have a disability, what should I do?
Yoga has been a valuable tool for our own journey with physical and mental challenges, and we believe it’s a great complementary tool for others, too.
If you have a disability and are worried about whether or not it’s possible to become a Yoga Teacher, please contact us through the contact page details.
We can explain in more detail what the program entails to see if it meets your needs.
What is the procedure if I miss a session?
Life is unpreditable, and we know this.
When you are onboarding, you are provided guidance on our missed class policy and bad weather policy. This will outline in detail what the procedures are and how we work with students.
I'm not tech-savvy, will I still be able to navigate the online training?
Absolutely.
We use Zoom, which is a relatively tech-friendly platform. However, if you have troubles that you can’t resolve, our team will provide training. Don’t worry!
